What a difference a week makes!!!
Always surprises me when I do my It’s a Wrap just what DID happen..here you go guys – hope you enjoy!..
The Angelus has gotten an update to include ‘people of all faiths and none’…I was very dubious of this until I listened to Roger Childs defend (or enlighten) us on RTE’s decision to be more ‘inclusive’. Taken at face value I think “Yeah, okay”, if I delve deeper and am less naïve I worry it’s another step to Ireland losing it’s identity…this is my favourite version anyway ..
Billy Walsh is gone..I have 2 brothers, 2 sister-in-laws, 3 nieces and 2 nephews living in Australia and they can be smug in the knowledge that each and every member of their families here in Ireland would be over the moon if they decided to come home for good..but imagine how Billy Walsh feels knowing an ENTIRE NATION would kiss his feet if he returned to Ireland and take up his old position – it won’t happen..we need to get over it and move on..anyway maybe the man just had enough of the weather here!!!
With ancient ruins being destroyed by sickening acts of terrorism in Syria, it’s refreshing to learn that in Mexico the ruins of a 16th century church have emerged literally from the depths! During a recent drought a reservoir dropped its levels by 25m revealing the colonial church – praise the lord!!!
Is anyone else concerned about the ‘youth of today’..This week a group of ‘lads’ – yeah, ‘hard lads’ kicked a puppy around the street like a football…seriously??!!! Let the ‘Do Gooders’ try to defend their actions and I’ll invite ‘said Samaritans’ to be kicked about the place so hard that the kind doctors in A&E decide it would be kinder to turn off their life support
The mid-term break has arrived and if you’re at a loss for how to entertain your kids, Tayto Park have embraced Halloween like a Mummy – get it??..starting this weekend – the park is transformed into a spooky spectacle. The park is also open after hours to enjoy true horrors in the dark of night…you won’t see me there, but for parents who enjoy the macabre and children who have no fear – you might want to check it out..
One Direction had troubles of their own in Belfast when they pulled out of a gig during the week..they played the gig on Friday instead but if Liam Payne (or rather ‘Pain’) had a problem with his stomach it would have needed to be appendicitis to placate the audience..all is well that ends well though..
Pistorius is suffering, he killed his girlfriend, sobbed his little heart out in court, went to prison for less than year, and now the poor man has to live in his Uncle’s house for the remainder of his 5 year sentence…my heart bleeds…have you seen where his Uncle lives???!!!!!! It’s a 3 storey mansion with a pool (and no doubt ‘room for a pony’!)…
With Lego announcing it will most likely run out of bricks before Christmas, parents might be wise to actually encourage an early Santa Letter !! Apparently the popularity of the Lego Movies have made the company a victim of their own success and meeting demand will Santa’s elves will be working around the clock ..alert the unions!
This week saw the 30th anniversary of the Back To The Future movies – I’m wey hey too young to remember them – ha ha ha!!!!! Man alive I loved them!!!! I wanted to live in HILL VALLEY, go to Rydell High, have Danny Zuko as my boyfriend but knew Marty Mc Fly was marriage material… The comparisons have been made and we’ve all enjoyed the brilliant video made by JUNKEE
but 30 years ago no one would have expected to see Michael J Fox produce a documentary of his own condition Parkinson Disease in the year 2015
It’s crazy enough that burglars are suing the poor unfortunates that fight back but where will it all end??…am I the only person who thinks this Petra Laszlo is delusional??? In case you forgot she is the Hungarian camerawoman pictured tripping up a refugee carrying his child – believe it or not SHE is suing him…let’s watch this one unfold
Some people struggle with an open coffin – they find it difficult to see the person lying at rest, so you’d have needed a fairly strong stomach ( Liam Payne – this is not for you), if you were attending the wake of murder victim Jomar Aguaya Collazo. His mother had her son’s dead body propped up at a card table so’s his Loved Ones could have one final game – sick.
You don’t need to be a Manchester United Fan to enjoy THE CLASS OF 92..it is a brilliant cinematic documentary..but fast forward to 2015 and I’ll be setting ‘record’ on the 29thon BBC1 at 9pm..The ex players take over Salford City and to see what we can expect – check out …
Amidst all the fun and frolics let us not forget France has been plunged into sadness as the death toll from the country’s worst crash in 30 years hits 43. We don’t know when our time is up to live every moment..
We have the Paddy Wagon, we have the ghost bus, we have the party bus, we have numerous sight-seeing buses and for the last two days we had the abortion bus…yes, you read that right. A bus went on tour around Ireland laden down with abortion pills, abortion information and advice from a doctor via skype…if you needed it – you wouldn’t have wanted to miss THAT bus!…
I really enjoyed the ‘Night At the Museum’ movies..but I’ll tell you what – there’ll be one museum I will NOT be visiting – and it’s The Stanley Hotel museum! Plans to transform the hotel that inspired the creepy and scary bestseller The Shining are underway…that is sure attract an ‘interesting crowd’..
We saw the amazing Amanda Byram pull off a Wonder Woman feat at the IFTAS this week and not only did she bring her panache, her skills and her personality to the awards, she led the way in style..so with that in mind I’ve picked my Fab Four looks from the night…
This one is for you Bex!!!! Pigs may never fly but it turns out frozen faeces certainly do. A couple got a shock when frozen poo flushed from an airplane hurtled through their roof causing panic and thankfully no one was injured! Imagine…Cause of death:..Death by poo…
And sadly – another somber item…just 6 days after a couple from Co Down walked down the aisle side by side they were found dead 20 metres apart on Plettenburg Bay in South Africa. Apparently a rip tide took their lives and destroyed countless others as both their families come to terms with this terrible loss..may they rest in peace..
So another screen siren has passed away and Thank God from natural causes. Born in Ranelagh in 1920 the great and glorious died at her home in the US this week aged 95. She paved the way for Irish actors and gave everyone hope of a lucrative and successful life in the Hollywood Hills. When a star of the silver screen passes away there is always a silver lining – we’ll be treated to numerous classics starring Maureen over the coming weeks, so plenty of chances to remember this icon and see her at her very best…
With all our attention focused on the boxing camp…let’s not forget our Men’s national hockey team have qualified for next year’s Olympic Games! The first team in any sport to qualify since 1948 – no doubt they’re already celebrating…
I’m heading to see BROOKLYN tonight at the new Odeon Cinema in Charlestown Finglas – so I’ll report back !!!!
…and in the words of the annoying Bugs Bunny….”That’s all Folks”!!
